Interactive Space Assignment 300 Word Rationale :)

300 word outline of my project - named Double Trouble.

I have aimed this at a young audience around the age of 5 - 8 both male and female. As my audience is young I decided to have characters of a young age - George & Luca (6) ( my twin brothers.) I decided to have the characters as the same age as the target audience because they can relate to them. The narrative is told by George & Luca who tell the user what to do. This is sometimes shown by text, sometimes by tool tips. As the characters are boys and wanted to aim for both sexes I set the photos in my bedroom whic is pink to give more of a female atmosphere.

The idea of the story is more of a game for the audience. They are invited into the house and greeted by George & Luca. There is a shot of them climbing the stairs where the audience is told to click on one of the twins if they want to play.

They then go into "their sisters" room & talk to the audience about the idea of the game they have to play which is for George to hide the ipod and the audience and Luca to find it. I thought this idea would work as younger children all love to annoy their older sibling by going into their room and hiding / touching their stuff. The narrative uses the pronoun "you" to involve the audience & so they feel the twins are actually talking to them.

The game hopefully creates an exciting atmosphere for the user. The use of exclamtion marks show that the mood is fun.

The shot of the whole room has many hidden hotspots in which the user can click if they think the ipod is hidden there like the wardrobe, shelf, bed, shoes & television. If they can get it wrong George & Luca show a sign saying no its not here and have the option to look again or have a clue which takes them to the photo of where the ipod is. When they find it they can then have the option to play again.
